OHTN funding is used to recruit and support champions: Individuals who are beacons for new ideas and who build research capacity in critical areas. OHTN research leaders, both staff and grant funded, drive research that contribute to improving HIV programs and services in Ontario, build collaborations and mentor others doing similar work.

Emerging Leaders
OHTN funding is also used to build Ontario’s research expertise and capacity in critical areas. Through a partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, we provide salary support for outstanding new investigators whose work is relevant to the needs of the Ontario HIV/AIDS Strategy and those populations most affected by HIV. Our own funding awards and our in-house development program are also creating new capacity in key areas.
