Provider PrEParation: A discussion on how culture and practitioner delivery intersect with PrEP uptake.

PrEP, or Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, is a highly effective way for people to have more control over their sex lives and protect themselves from HIV.  PrEP is a safe, effective intervention that decreases HIV risk significantly when taken as prescribed.  This session explores what is known about PrEP acceptance and how healthcare delivery can alter uptake and persistence.

Dr. Patrick O’Byrne, University of Ottawa, will discuss his pilot intervention PrEP-RN: Community-Based Nurse-Led PrEP.
