Dr. Jon Hunter: The role of early life experience in adaptation to illness

Dr. Jon Hunter is Head of the University of Toronto Department of Psychiatry Consultation and Liaison Division. At MSH he heads the hospital Consultation and Liaison program, and is also the Head of Psychosocial services in the Marvelle Koffler Breast Center. His clinical practice centers on the psychiatric care of cancer patients, with particular emphasis placed on psychotherapeutic interventions. He has a longstanding interest in the way people’s personalities interact with the world around them, for instance, when dealing with illness. Research interests include psychological management of chemotherapy side-effects, group psychotherapy in women at high risk for breast cancer, and the role of early life experience in adaptation to disease.
