Advancing Equity in HIV Research, Policy, and Practice
February 21 – 23, 2027
The OHTN Conference returns February 21 to 23, 2027, bringing together people living with HIV, community leaders, healthcare providers, educators, policymakers, researchers and public health professionals to connect, share knowledge and strengthen Ontario’s HIV response.
This year’s theme is Care, Community, and Belonging: Advancing Equity in HIV Research, Policy, and Practice. The conference will showcase emerging evidence, innovative and promising practices, lived and living experience, and community-led work advancing HIV prevention, treatment, care, policy and health equity.
Whether you are presenting your work, learning from others or building new partnerships, the OHTN Conference offers an opportunity to collaborate across disciplines and sectors and contribute to a stronger, more equitable HIV response.
About the conference
The conference is intended for healthcare and service providers, researchers, educators, policymakers, public health professionals, students, trainees, people living with HIV and others with lived and living experience, community leaders and organizations, and others contributing to Ontario’s HIV response.
Participants from outside Ontario, including international delegates, are welcome to attend. However, they are responsible for their own travel, accommodation and related costs. The OHTN cannot provide financial assistance or documentation in support of visa applications. Read more about hotel accommodations below.

Registration
Registration is free and includes access to all open conference sessions, keynote presentations, scheduled meals and the conference reception.
All participants must register for the conference, including presenters whose abstracts have been accepted. Submitting an abstract does not register you for the conference.
Meet our Conference Co-Chairs
We are excited to announce the co-chairs for the OHTN Conference 2027:
Notisha Massaquoi, Assistant Professor in the Department of Health and Society at the University of Toronto Scarborough, and Trevor Stratton, Indigenous Leadership Policy Manager at CAAN Communities, Alliances & Networks.
We asked our co-chairs what they hope the conference will achieve and what they’re most looking forward to.
Trevor Stratton hopes the conference will continue to bridge research, policy, and community action while creating greater opportunities for Indigenous communities to share their experiences, strengths, and priorities in addressing HIV.
“What I look forward to most is the unique mix of participants that OHTN brings together. The conference creates a rare opportunity to engage with community leaders, frontline workers, researchers, and people with lived and living experience in conversations that can lead to lasting and meaningful change.”
Notisha Massaquoi hopes the conference will be a space where research and lived experience come together to inspire meaningful action.
