We are proud to announce that Dr. Francisco Ibáñez-Carrasco, the OHTN’s Director of Education and Training, has received the 2017 Canadian Association for HIV Research Red Ribbon Award.

The award is presented annually for outstanding service to the cause of research that has increased our understanding of the treatment and prevention of HIV, and for enhancing quality of life for those living with or affected by HIV.

Francisco has been selected for his many contributions to HIV-related research and education. In any given day, Francisco might be inspiring the next generation of HIV researchers through Universities Without Walls, unveiling innovative educational materials, strengthening and supporting peer researchers, and creating new training opportunities for community members, ASO staff and physicians. He is also a tireless mentor, friend and coach.

Francisco received the award at this year’s CAHR conference in Montreal. Please join us in congratulating Francisco on this achievement. He is a dedicated teacher and researcher who leads by example, and he works constantly to improve life for people living with and affected by HIV. Thank you, Francisco, for all that you do!
