The Ontario HIV Treatment Network is accepting nominations for qualified candidates for the following vacancies on the OHTN Board of Directors commencing September 16, 2011, for a two-year term:
- HIV / AIDS Clinic in Ontario
- Community Member
Qualified candidates will bring the following competencies or experience:
- Knowledge of the OHTN and its mission, values and programs
- Knowledge of and/or experience in HIV research and issues related to HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, service delivery or community action
Demonstrated HIV/AIDS community service and/or governance experience
- Available to attend bi-monthly board meetings and ad hoc committee meetings and teleconferences during the two-year term
- Demonstrated experience in financial governance or financial management is desired.
- Resident of Ontario
In an effort to increase diverse Board representation from all regions of Ontario, the Board encourages persons from northern Ontario and outside the Greater Toronto Area, members of Aboriginal communities, persons from ethnic or visible minority groups or communities, persons identified with vulnerable or marginalized populations, and persons with lived experience, as well as women and francophone Ontarians to apply. Persons who do not identify with these diverse populations or communities are equally encouraged to apply.

- One-page cover letter that includes:
- the applicant's name and contact information
- the stakeholder group she/he represents (HIV/AIDS Clinic in Ontario or Community Member)
- an explanation of the contribution the candidate would bring to the OHTN Board of Directors
- One-page biography of the applicant that demonstrates his/her contribution to the HIV/AIDS response in Ontario (a full CV or resume may also be attached to the one-page biography)
- Two additional references (with contact information) that can speak to the applicant's qualifications and commitment). Two letters of reference or support may be submitted.

Selection Process
The nominations and expressions of interest will be reviewed by a Board Nominations Committee. All personal information received in this process will be kept in the strictest confidence and protected in accordance with privacy legislation and OHTN policies.
In addition to the nomination process, the Board will conduct an additional search through networking and contacts with stakeholder and partner organizations, the extended network and members of the OHTN, and people engaged in the HIV/AIDS response in Ontario.
The OHTN sincerely thanks all applicants for their interest. Only those applicants selected for an interview for a Board or Committee position will be contacted. The results of this process will be posted on the OHTN website after the confirmation of new Board members at the OHTN's Annual General Meeting in September 2011.
