AIDS Bereavement Project of Ontario: Survive to Thrive Workshop on June 12-13 The AIDS Bereavement Project of Ontario will host an experiential peer-facilitated workshop for people, infected and affected by HIV and AIDS on Survive to Thrive: Exploring the Journey from Surviving to Thriving. This free two-day weekend workshop will be held on June 12 and 13, 2010, in Toronto with the aim to strengthen community response to AIDS-related multiple loss. CTAC: Liver Transplantation in HIV Meeting on June 14

The Canadian Treatment Action Council (CTAC) would like to invite you to attend Dr. Curtis Cooper’s knowledge transfer meeting on June 14, 2010, to hear about recent research results on the benefits and challenges of liver transplantation in HIV. Please join CTAC to learn more about Dr. Cooper’s study that will inform public health policy and further efforts to secure access to liver transplantation for people living with HIV. The Arthritis Society: HIV and Arthritis Seminar on June 23

Arthritis is a major problem in Ontario, affecting over 1.8 million people. As this number increases, the demands on The Arthritis Society to fight this disease increase as well, and so must their programming efforts. As part of their ongoing efforts to provide information to those affected, the Arthritis Society will hold a special seminar in Toronto on HIV and Arthritis on June 23, 2010. Toronto Teen Survey: What Did Black, African and Caribbean Teens Have to Say? Find out June 28

Planned Parenthood of Toronto & The African and Caribbean Council on HIV/AIDS in Ontario are launching the Toronto Teen Survey findings of what Black, African and Caribbean teens had to say. Join a free evening event on June 28, 2010, featuring performances by the House of Pink Lady and the TAIBU Community Health Centre and Creative Youth Resource Education Studio, to find out about the sexual health concerns of Black, African and Caribbean teens in Toronto. Priscilla Queen of the Desert: Enjoy a Musical & Support Toronto AIDS Agencies this October

Mirvish Productions is mounting the North American premiere of Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Musical for a three month run at the Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto, beginning in mid-October, 2010. A portion of select ticket sales on October 12 will raise funds for the AIDS Committee of Toronto’s (ACT) HIV prevention, education and support programs, October 13 will support the 12th Annual Friends for Life Bike Rally of the Toronto People with AIDS Foundation, and October 28 will help Fife House to provide housing and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS. OHTN Strategic Plan to 2015: Striving for Excellence, Achieving Impact

The OHTN is proud to announce the launch of their new strategic plan, Striving for Excellence, Achieving Impact, 2010 to 2015. The plan was developed through an open, collaborative process involving the OHTN board, staff, and key stakeholders. Public consultations inviting feedback on how to implement the plan will be held in Ottawa on June 22, London on June 23, Sudbury on July 13 and Toronto on July 14. CANOC Scholarship Applications Due June 15

The Canadian Observational Cohort (CANOC) collaboration in partnership with the OHTN and the CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network is pleased to announce the 2010-2011 CANOC scholarship competition. This team approach to training and knowledge translation creates unique opportunities for advanced multi-site and multi-investigator training. A total of $90,000 per year will be offered for scholarships at Master, PhD and graduate level students. The application deadline for the 2010-2011 competition is June 15, 2010. Universities Without Walls: Call for Fellowship Applications due July 15

The Universities Without Walls Fellowship aims to support graduate students attending a Canadian University in the areas of social sciences, population health and health services, arts and humanities, whose main academic interest is related to the HIV epidemic locally, regionally, nationally or globally.
