The deadline to submit a concept sheet for the Creative and Novel Ideas Research (CNIHR) program is December 22, 2009. Developed by the International AIDS Society (IAS) in partnership with the National Institutes of Health -Centers for AIDS Research, CNIHR supports research projects that introduce scientists from other disciplines to the field of HIV research.

To be eligible, applicants must be early stage investigators who have completed a terminal degree (MD, PhD or equivalent) within the last 10 years and are new to the HIV field. The award is for up to $150,000 in direct costs per year for up to two years. Selected applications will be invited to submit a full application. For more information, visit the IAS website.

The CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network (CTN) is pleased to announce the 2010-2011 competition for the CTN Postdoctoral Fellowship Awards Programme supported by contributions from CANFAR and OHTN. Each award is worth $50,000 plus up to $5,000 in a travel allowance on expenses claimed. One fellowship will be available for a candidate living and training in Ontario.

To be eligible, applications must be MDs who either have completed or are enrolled in an accredited medical residency program or PhDs who have completed their PhD. In addition, Biostatisticians with a PhD and working in a HIV or co-infections group are also eligible to apply. The deadline for applications is January 31, 2010.
